PATHE HEAD QUARTERS AMSTERDAM

In collaboration with communication agency …,staat, we designed the new headquarters for leading cinema chain Pathé. Their existing Amsterdam South office no longer met the company’s needs — it was outdated, undersized, and lacked the flexibility for modern ways of working. Our design transformed the space with two guiding principles: “connect” and “work.”

The ground floor was envisioned as a vibrant meeting hub. Here, employees and visitors can connect in an open, welcoming environment. Large architectural cubes divide the space into distinct zones, housing various meeting rooms. At the heart of this floor lies the screening stage — a flexible venue for presentations and film screenings for larger audiences. A spacious open kitchen and lunch area invite the whole team to share meals together. Tall, custom curtains provide adaptability, allowing the kitchen to be hidden after lunch and the screening stage to be darkened when needed.

The first floor was designed for focused work. It features three open-plan office spaces connected by a long corridor, flanked by enclosed meeting rooms for smaller, more private discussions. This clear separation between the dynamic ground floor and the calm upper level creates balance between collaboration and concentration.

Pathé’s brand identity is embedded throughout both floors. Variations of yellow bring warmth and familiarity, while red accents reference the cinematic world and theatre tradition. Bespoke signage inspired by Pathé’s visual style further strengthens the brand experience.

The result is a future-proof workplace that captures the spirit of Pathé: a place where people connect, collaborate, and create — all within an environment that reflects the brand’s passion for film.
