For this apartment, located directly on the beachfront in Zandvoort, we created a fully bespoke interior design in which functionality, aesthetics and the surrounding landscape come together seamlessly. The brief was clear: to make optimal use of every square centimetre and to design an interior that feels light, open and balanced — in harmony with life by the sea.
Nearly the entire interior was designed by our studio and executed as custom-made work. From the generous kitchen to the built-in cabinetry, wardrobe and wall panels in the living area, every element forms part of one cohesive design concept. Through thoughtful layouts and bespoke solutions, the apartment offers a calm, spacious living environment with clarity and flow.
Materiality and detailing played a central role throughout the project. Linen wallcoverings were applied throughout the apartment, creating a soft, natural texture and a serene foundation. To introduce character and depth, an elegant, finely detailed cornice was incorporated in both the living room and kitchen — a subtle nod to Art Deco, translated into a contemporary setting.
Only natural materials were used. Warm wood finishes, a travertine floor and an expressive marble shower space contribute to a timeless yet refined atmosphere, while reinforcing the connection to the coastal environment. These carefully considered material choices result in an interior that is not only visually strong, but also durable and comfortable to live in.
With windows on all sides overlooking the sea, the surrounding landscape becomes an integral part of the interior. Light, sightlines and materials are carefully aligned to blur the boundary between inside and outside — creating the sensation of living on the water, with the sea always present.
This project reflects our approach as an interior design studio: from overall concept to refined detailing, with a strong focus on bespoke design, natural materials and interiors that respond to their environment.
