The studio was founded by Sander van der Poort with a clear intention: to create interiors that evoke a sense of calm, warmth, and individuality. A well-designed home is more than just visually appealing—it should feel deeply personal and reflect the lives of those who live there. Every project begins with a conversation, guided by curiosity about how people live, move, and feel in their surroundings.
Designing from context, not trends
We approach each project with the belief that good design grows from context rather than trends. Instead of imposing a fixed aesthetic, we allow the natural rhythm of the space and its inhabitants to shape the design. This results in interiors that feel both grounded and fluid, spaces where function and feeling exist in harmony.
Layers and the beauty of imperfection
Our work is characterized by subtle layers, soft transitions between tones, thoughtfully selected textures, and a deliberate use of negative space. We embrace the imperfect beauty of natural materials, linen with a visible weave, wood that shows its grain, stone with gentle inconsistencies. We believe the design process should be as thoughtful and personal as the outcome. By working closely with our clients, we take the time to listen, observe, and understand. Each project is shaped by this dialogue, resulting in interiors that reflect the personality of their owners as much as that of our studio. This collaboration ensures that no two projects are alike, yet they all share the same intention: to offer comfort, clarity, and character.
We start with an extensive meeting where we discuss your dreams and wishes. We like to really get to know you, how you use your house, what your routines are.
Sketch Design
Here we make initial sketches of the envisioned floorplans and talk about the desired moods and atmosphere. We ask you to collect imagery and create a first moodboard based on your input.
Preliminary Design
Building on the sketch design, we refine the floor plan and start defining the overall look and feel; materials, colours, and furniture direction. This is also the stage where we translate the moodboard into a concrete design direction, so you get a clear sense of where the project is heading.
Final Design
The design is worked out in detail: furniture, lighting, materials, and finishes are selected, and we start sourcing art and special vintage pieces together with you. You'll receive a complete visual presentation of the interior, so every element comes together before we move into execution.
Technical Design
The final design is translated into detailed technical drawings and specifications for contractors and suppliers. We coordinate with everyone involved to make sure the design is executed exactly as intended, down to the smallest detail.
Styling
Once the technical work is complete, we return to style the space; arranging furniture, art, and accessories to bring the design to life. This is where all the details come together: the layered, personal finish that makes a house feel truly lived-in and yours.
